Well, i've gone and done it. I've shown Gina how dull, indecisive and out-of-touch with current culture I really am. What a way to make an impression. I'll be lucky if she even bothers speaking to me after such a dull, boring day.

On another note, i'm still feeling that numb, dazed sensation. I need an incredible adrenaline rush to get me out of this funk, and listening to Megadeth's High Speed Dirt has me wanting to try skydiving like, NOW. Of course, that's impossible in Singapore, and would cost a fortune anyway. I may need to settle for sailing in strong wind, but finding such an opportunity during the week will be difficult, especially with my upcoming first-aid course.

Expedition preparation on Friday night ended up taking till 2am, with a few technical issues that required fixing, and having to deal with Hadi messing with things, and Zulfadli pissing Jaslyn off. Slept around 4am and got up at half past 6, managing to launch the expedition slightly ahead of schedule.

Headed home to shower before cycling to NSC for the SailSmart Instructor workshop, only to spend most of the lesson nodding off due to lack of sleep, and realizing that the program is not suitable for me. Rather than being a sailing course with elements of science and conservation awareness, it is an "education through sailing" class with greater emphasis on science, environmental issues and bonding, rather than on technical skills and building confidence.

Feeling dazed despite nearly 10 hours of sleep, I skipped today's workshop, realizing that I will never sign up to instruct for this program, regardless of whether I finish the course, as it just doesn't suit me. So, i've wasted $150, and missed my expedition again, after being convinced by Jaslyn to go for the people I like, and not skip it because of the people I loathe.

I told Jaslyn that i'd be there either after my class or to help them clean up tomorrow, but won't be going after all, since i'll be meeting Gina for lunch. I feel guilty for making an empty promise, but this is the only opportunity before she heads to Athens for ~2 weeks. Here hoping I don't screw up tomorrow.

Back from Redang, had a horrible time with the 10-odd hour busrides to and from Marang. The next time I go, i'm just gonna pay for the air ticket straight there. Overall, visibility was poor, and I was afflicted by DCS (headaches) after most dives. Naturally, the dives I skipped were the good ones, and I missed the turtle and shark sightings. My reef dive revealed a large number of Crown-of-Thorns sea stars feeding on hard coral, leading me to worry for the future of the local reefs. Overall, it was a decent new experience, a good change from our usual destinations, though it seems that every time I go diving, we have poor timing and just miss the good conditions. Hopefully this trend will change soon.

Heading to PM later to help prepare for the expedition tomorrow. It's a pity I can't go with them, having already signed up for the SailSmart Instructor Course. At least it will finally be out of the way, and Jaslyn will be able to relax.
